Straight!? is included in the 2024 Queer Games Festival Showcase
Hey all,
So I don't do this very often but I wanted to share some exciting news.
I woke up today to find that Straight!? has been included in the 2024 Queer Games Festival in Melbourne. This is an annual festival that features mostly indie projects with queer themes or developed by queer creators. This is a great place to discover new creators and projects and it's both humbling and exciting to even appear within a showcase for an awards ceremony. It's also worth mentioning that developers this year overwhelming reported that Itchio as one of the best platforms to feature queer related content.
This year there are 70 featured projects by developers that you can find in the link above. Ultimately, the judges will whittle this list down to a handful of finalists with ultimately one featured winner this year. The fact that queer games are getting an ever-increasingly bright spotlight is a win for all of us to be seen, heard, and validated within the scope of a polarized world.
We did this together. You. All of us.
I already posted this link on social media and some of you have reached out to ask if you can support Straight!? within the festival. Unfortunately, there's no way to "vote" on your favorite project. The grading is all done internally.
However, what you can do is to take a moment to check out the link above and scroll through to take a look at the other featured projects for 2024. Being an indie developer is hard-- getting exposure is hard-- so this is a great way to support our cause, find new stories and projects, and throw your energy behind other developers that are tirelessly pecking away at their keyboards by the moonlight. Many of the featured links from the Showcase will take you right back here to the Itchio project page.

so far the revamp updates are much quicker than the original updates-- mostly because i dont have to do much writing-- it's just editing of existing writing. that being said, i've sorta taken the extra time to practice more things during this passthrough of the revamp-- hence all the animations and stuff. But so far it's been around ~2 months give or take.
and i really appreciate the support-- that doesn't necessarily mean financial-- just support in general. please dont feel obligated-- there's a reason the game is free. just make sure you take care of yourself first. the world has been crazy for awhile now <3
No worries - it's not that I feel like I "must" donate or anything. I just genuinely enjoy supporting a game I absolutely loved from start to finish throughout its journey, as well as the amazing people behind it, as much as I can whenever possible.
But thank you as always for your concern, understanding and empathy in terms of financial support. You are one of a kind π§‘
Best of luck with the revamping and all of its remaining updates! Keep them coming BUT always at your own pace - no rush. We all will be here waiting patiently for as long as necessary. And of course, I wish you well for everything not game-related as well - that little thing called real life and such, ahah.

I recently discovered the game an what can i say - i can't stop playing it! :) And i'm not done yet either.
The story has gripped me and i find it more exciting from chapter to chapter what will happen next night. And it always makes me horny! ;)
