Straight!? v0.21 Now Available on Patreon

Hey all,

So I don't usually post a lot of game update stuff over here (mostly because the UI drives me crazy), but I wanted to focus some attention over to the Patreon page for a couple of reasons. Yesterday, we dropped v0.21 of the game. This picks up at the end of Chapter 10 and will finish the story. While I plan to go back and continue to do early development work on the project, this will be the last update for story content and progression (although the beginning will be significantly more fleshed out but more on that later). For those interested, the link is here . The game ends and there is closure. So far, the reaction from fans has been overwhelmingly supportive and I couldn't be any happier.

The game Discord is also available if you'd like to chat with others about the game or talk with us directly. Sometimes, this turns into therapy to try and process some of the stuff that happens in game--that's ok, too-- we'll get through it together. Messages on there literally go to my phone and I'm always happy to talk about your experience as well as problem solve any issues that pop up. I'm usually on there daily while I'm working on the project and we have a lot of fun. Please make sure that you're over the age of 18 and you're nice-- that's pretty much the only requirements :)

Many of you have been donating over here. While the game is funded solely on donations, I wanted to ask that if you consider financially contributing, you should probably shift that over to the Patreon site rather than here at least for the next 3 weeks. The reason being is that on Patreon, donations actually unlock extra content whereas over here, it's literally a donation with nothing extra. While I appreciate both, I just wanted to say that right after update time, is a good time to snag some extra content over on Patreon for the same price as an update unlock. If you're not interested in the extra content, feel free to disregard. This isn't a hint or an obligation, just more for people that are new to the system. That being said, the new version of the game is available for $5 donations and up on Patreon and then will be posted over here for FREE on August 3.

If you're not in a financial situation to help donate, please wait on the free version. I release it free for a reason and it will be the same version that Patreon people get except I usually have more bugs or typos fixed by the time I release it to the public. On a more serious note, over the past few weeks, I've had an influx of donations over here on itch.io following an awkward string of comments by one user. Many of you have expressed a desire to "offset" that through your own financial contributions-- some of which were made by people who were not in a position to do that at the time. I've spoken with the ones that I know of and refunded that with gratitude and thanks but I can't help but feel there's others out there that I don't know about. Moral of the story is please take care of yourself first. This game was designed to foster good communication and acceptance of people and I like the supportive community that's rallied consistently behind it. People have been very generous to me and this project has gained way more acclaim than I ever imagined. You're good people and you prove that in your messages that I see every day. So please take care of yourself and those around you first before you contribute to this project. There's a million ways to support the project besides monetary: you can do streams, share it with friends, follow us on social media and retweet things to your own followers, post on public forums like here with your reactions, or even hop on the discord and chat with us. Those all count.
